This page contains pictures of some of the garden work that was done in January to May 1999.
Meet George. This is a NZ-native Kowhai tree, which we have named "George" after David's late Grandad:

The tomato plants almost took over the backyard! Very tasty, too:

Also in Jenn's vege garden, some corn plants. We probably won't do corn again, as they take up a lot of space and have a very low yield... but the taste was almost worth it!

The fence completed, and the rockery area started. It's just riverstones here, but now contains an assortment of succulents and grasses, along with small river boulders:

Partway through covering the Japanese garden area with bark. Under the bark is plastic weedmat to inhibit weeds:
