--- Our House Gallery: Garden Earthmoving ---
This page contains pictures of the major earthmoving that was done to form the base garden layout. The earthmoving was done in October 1998.
The bobcat that did all the work:

Clay roughly spread out over the right side of the section (looking from the front):

More clay roughly spread out, this time at the back, before the pond was excavated:

The front, showing the topsoil spread out, prior to the garden mounds being built:

A close-up of the front, showing the garden mounds. The lawn area is rather rough and full of ruts from the bobcat wheels:

Looking towards the back-left corner of the section, showing the large mound of topsoil that will one day be covered in moss and other small plants, and be topped with a feature tree:

The pond... just a hole in the ground for now. The concrete rubble dumped on the left edge, and the mound of clay in the centre of the picture, will help form a base for the waterfall:

Looking towards the back-right corner of the section. The patio can be seen on the left, with a silk tree near the corner, and the pond beyond:

Looking along the right-hand boundary. The huge dirt piles on the empty neighbouring section (as shown in a previous gallery) are all gone:
