I listen to a lot of podcasts on my iPhone, so it seems fitting that my first Media Monday post links to the app I use to listen to them. I tried several podcast apps for my listening style, and Overcast was the clear winner. I’ve used Overcast since it was first released, and it keeps getting better.

Every Friday I do a #FlockFriday post on my homestead blog, about my ducks and chickens. Every Saturday I do a #Caturday post about the feral cats I care for. Today I am starting a new series of blog posts on my Dejus blog: #MediaMonday.

A couple of days ago I made a loaf of bread using my usual no-knead recipe, but using whole wheat flour instead of bread flour, as an experiment. As expected, it turned out a bit differently; a little too much moisture content, and a bit more dense. 🍞

I’ve been trying the inverted AeroPress method over the last few days. I think I might prefer it, if only because it builds in steeping time while preparing the filter, plus easier to get to the filters without the plunger in the rack. ☕️

On the homestead blog: for this week’s Flock Friday, ducks being cute, chickens being broody, and a heron eating a couple of our fish (grrr). #FlockFriday 🦆🐓

Congrats to Adam and Tonya Engst on the 30th anniversary (yesterday) of TidBITS. Here’s a fuzzy pic from Macworld Conf 2007.

Back in 2002 in our apartment, since we couldn’t have a pond, we had a fish tank. #ThrowbackThursday

Today’s moment of cuteness: we just gave Rory a new two-prong antler to chew on, and Paladin was most fascinated. 🐈 🐕

I recently switched to making coffee via AeroPress instead of Keurig K-Cups. It’s a bit more work, but not too bad.

On the homestead blog: a bunch of photos and GIFs of the fountain garden stream.

Speaking of Pippin, apparently his purr is 39 decibels (according to the Noise complication on my Apple Watch).
