I've just added a SSL certificate to the dejus.com site, like all the cool kids are doing nowadays (even though this blog doesn't really need it, other than to avoid scary warnings by some dodgy browsers). Go secure!

On the Dejus YouTube channel: Cats Playing in the Sun; a silent video of one cat playing with the decorative wagon wheel on the deck, then a couple on top of the awnings and another on the deck, enjoying a bit of warmth from the sun.

Back when I was attending Auckland University around 1990, I worked on weekends in the private library at the Adis International HQ, photocopying drug articles, filing medical journals, and working on their minicomputer and IBM PC. #ThrowbackThursday #dejus365

I recently replaced the halogen bulb in my flag light with a high-power LED bulb, which works really well, and should last much longer. #dejus365

I want to do a big order from Home Depot for Express Delivery, but I get these error messages when checking the zip code. Not a good look; I want to order online, not have to have a call. Been like this for months.

Added a motion-activated LED light in the workshop, to help Jenn get in the car in the dark. (There's also an eero mesh network router there; nice to have WiFi when working in the shop!) #dejus365

My last two posts showed Rory and mentioned my truck... so here are both together. (The truck repair is still ongoing; awaiting a part to fix the stereo, so back to the dealer next week; yay.) #dejus365

I just dropped off my truck to the dealer for a repair, so for today's #ThrowbackThursday it seems only appropriate to show this old family car from around 1988. I'm not a car guy, but I think it's the Mitsubishi Lancer that I learned on and drove? A bit of a clunker. #dejus365

New video on the Dejus YouTube channel: All five of our feral cats turned up for breakfast at the same time a couple of days ago (which is unusual). Plus a bonus breakfast rush from this morning. 🐱

Watched the Apple Mac & iPad event this morning. That'll eventually be an expensive event: I want a new 12.9" iPad (with keyboard & Pencil), Jenn wants a new 11" iPad, she also wants a new Mac mini (to replace her aging iMac), and I want a new MacBook Air (to replace my old one).

But none of it is urgent, so I won't be ordering anything just yet.

I just backed an Indiegogo campaign for BroodMinder-T2 sensors, to monitor the temperature inside beehives. That should be very useful in helping keep an eye on the health of our hives.
