Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein 📚 #MediaMonday

This is one of Heinlein’s more famous (or infamous) books. It has strong opinions on earning voting rights by national service, and while it can be a bit lecture-y at times, is overall a good story.

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein 📚 #MediaMonday

I’m a fan of Heinlein’s books, and Stranger is perhaps the most famous of them. The story of a human raised by Martians, his difficulties fitting in on Earth, and strange powers and philosophies.

Beyond This Horizon by Robert A. Heinlein 📚 #MediaMonday

I’ve been a fan of Heinlein’s books since I was a kid, though some aspects haven’t aged well. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but one I really like is Beyond This Horizon, an interesting utopian vision of the future.

Toll by Matt Gemmell 📚 #MediaMonday

The second book in his KESTREL action-thriller series, about a secret experiment that is discovered, and threatens all humanity.

Changer by Matt Gemmell 📚 #MediaMonday

I usually exclusively read science fiction, but when writer and former iOS/Mac developer Matt published his first novel, an action-thriller with some sci-fi leanings, I bought it in digital and dead tree forms, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Changer books

I grew up reading science fiction in bed every night, but in the past few years I’ve been reading Twitter instead. Perhaps not the most soothing bedtime reading. Yesterday I decided to resume reading SF, starting with Dan Moren’s book The Caledonian Gambit. 📚

A couple more old reference books: the manuals for THINK’s Lightspeed Pascal (1988) and THINK Pascal (1991), plus some more books on my shelf. 📚
