On the Sinclair Trails blog: now that I have better internet again, a new post about our Yellowstone trip in a rental trailer. I won’t cross-post all of the posts, so follow @SinclairTrails on Micro.blog or Twitter, or the site directly, to read the posts. 🚌

A tiny snake in the grass. 🐍
On the homestead blog: some pictures of cats in the cabins and their house, and outside. And one not-a-cat, in your weekly cat update. #Caturday 🐈
A deer grazing on the grass back towards the beehives. 🦌
The answer to today’s #WhatsItWednesday question: it’s a bug catcher. If some bug comes inside (e.g. we often get ladybugs in Fall), I can put this over the bug, slide the hatch closed, then take it outside and open to release. Easy and harmless.
Bonus GIF of the deer. 🦌
I spotted a deer while on my rounds this morning. She wasn’t overly concerned about me, though did flush out a cat (Spud) who was watching her from amongst the grasses. 🦌🐈
“Hi Bob.” Last night’s bobcat also went by the cat house. More in Caturday tomorrow. 🐈
I think this might be my first sighting of a bobcat (GIF). 🐈
Sorry if this grosses out anyone. I found several of these larvae-like things in mud wedged between stuff in a junk pile. I haven’t been able to identify them; can anyone help? I assume an insect of some kind.
Update: Seems likely to be from a mud dauber wasp. Mostly harmless.
