I usually like receiving Mac App Store reviews for my Dejal Time Out app, since they are almost always ★★★★★, and say nice things, which I greatly appreciate. But I particularly enjoyed the latest one, which was a bit more succinct than usual. Title: "Amazeballs"; body: "wooooooo". Thanks, ThePresianPrince!

We are celebrating Christmas with our 15th annual "Hobbitfest": watching the extended editions of all three Lord of the Rings movies; 12 hours total, plus intermissions. Along with snacks and feasting. Merry Christmas! #dejus365 🎄🍿

Merry Christmas to my NZ family and friends, and happy Christmas eve to others in the US etc, or whatever holiday tradition you celebrate. We will be doing something a little different this year: our annual Hobbitfest tomorrow, and family Christmas next weekend. #dejus365 🎄

Christmas firsts in 1994: the first Christmas together (in person) for Jenn and me, in our tiny first flat, with my family cat Buffy that we were borrowing until we got our first cats. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

On stormy winter days, we can lose power due to trees on the power lines (fortunately not all that often). But when we have no power, we have no water, as we're on a well. So big jugs of water are useful for such situations, and for disaster preparation. #dejus365

A little hard to tell the floating leaves from the small fish in our pond. (Photo from Nov 1; the fish are hibernating in the deep part now; likely won't see them again till March.) #dejus365

For my photo(s) of the day, four stills from my latest YouTube video, The Squeaky Cat Gets the Licks. #dejus365 🐱

On the Dejus YouTube channel: The Squeaky Cat Gets the Licks. Porcini is vocalizing and stretching, and gets licked by Pommie, then sits on Poppy, who isn't entirely thrilled, but then they snuggle happily. Just another day in the feral cat shelter. 🐱

Tonight's pizza. Jenn was so in love with the crust, she had to go back for another slice. Guess I'm doing it right. 🍕

Rory's bed in the office is also not really a cat place, but Paladin enjoys it. And Rory is willing to settle for a smaller cushion; she knows who's boss. #dejus365 🐱🐶

I just remembered that my main iMac still wasn't being backed up by Backblaze. I had originally figured that pretty much everything is replicated on my second iMac, but for the additional peace of mind, the extra less than $4/month (when paying for 2 years) is peanuts, so now they both are.

The only gotcha is that I have really slow internet in my rural location (12 Mbps down, 1 up), so it'll take ages to do the initial backup. But I can schedule it to do it at night, and add exclusions to do the most important things first, so it's all good.

An assortment of old CD-ROMs: CodeWarrior dev tools, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X 10.1 (Puma), 10.2 (Jaguar), 10.3 (Panther), 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard), and iLife '04 and '05. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday
