It's raining today, which doesn't bother the ducks at all. This time-lapse covers two hours of the ducks swimming around the pond, going onto the bank, and inside the duck house, in just 22 seconds.

Once the first frost of fall brings the veggie garden growth to an end, we let the chickens in there, so they can eat the remaining tomatoes, kale, lettuce, etc, and have fun scratching in the beds for bugs.

Sound up! After refilling the hummingbird feeders, I stood nearby outside and recorded several of them arriving, with the lightsaber-like wing noises and twittering arguments.

The temperatures has been below freezing over the past few days, so our feral cats have been hanging around home more, enjoying their heated shelters. This is a time-lapse from the last few days of inside their main cat house.

A short clip of Porcini slowly settling on top of her very patient mother.

I moved one of the cameras in our new chicken coop to above the nesting boxes. Here is a time-lapse of a day in the coop from that vantage point, with a surprise egg bonus.

A slow motion video of several hummingbirds around the feeder on a rainy day.

I let the new ducks into the pond today. This is a couple of clips of their first swim.

I put a handful of raw whole peanuts in a tray for the wild birds every day. The Steller's Jays and Scrub Jays love them, hardly waiting for me to leave before diving down and grabbing one or two. They take them elsewhere to open and eat; we find peanut shells under trees all over the homestead.

I recorded this video to show ChickenGuard's customer support the issue I'm having with the opener on my new chicken coop (three years old, to be fair). It is having a door jam error when closing, requiring recalibration, but works once done, until nighttime when it is supposed to close.

I thought others might find it interesting too, to see how the coop pop door opener works, and the innovative way I have it mounted on a door so I can access it from inside the coop, and have the cord go straight down from the opener to the pop door.

I just refilled the hummingbird feeders, so the one by the house was still swaying, but that didn't put off a hungry hummer. Plus more on the other feeder.

This morning I set up the kiddie pool in the duckling run again. The new ducklings were excited to swim and dive in it, having gotten used to it in their evacuation trailer pen.

A couple slow motion clips of a Rouen duckling spreading her waterproofing oils and dunking her head, then a normal speed (though seems sped up after the slow-mo) clip of three ducklings enjoying the pool.

A couple of clips of the ducklings today: eating kale treats, and being cooled off in misting from the hose.

I put out whole peanuts in a tray for the jays each morning.

When giving the ducklings their kale treats this morning, instead of ripping it into small pieces and tossing it to them as I usually do, I just held some and let them pull off bits.

Today I reassembled the fenced run for the latest ducklings. I got a bunch of pictures that will be in today's ducklings blog post. Here are two clips: playing in the mud, while Betty quacks at them, plus using the paint tray pool.

The new two-week-old ducklings have quickly become enthused at going in the paint tray pool. This is the morning of their second day with the pool, with all of them in it at once. They won't all fit for long, but in a couple of weeks they'll have a larger outdoor pool.

Today I introduced the latest ducklings to leafy treats, which they immediately loved.

Watch our newest ducklings eating and drinking while peeping, with the older ducks quacking in the background... then cut to the older ducks eating, which is quite the contrast.
