On the Sinclair Trails blog: a useful addition to help with unlevel sites: SnapPads. 🚌

The tech removed the tire, and determined that the brake caliper had seized up and couldn’t be released. (And the disc is rather scuffed; see pic.) So we’ll need a tow to somewhere that can fix that. It’s Sunday, so we’ll be here at least till tomorrow. At least we’re safe at a rest stop.
We initially thought it was a tire issue, but it turned out to be a brake issue. Our roadside assistance company, CoachNet, sent a mobile tech, who arrived promptly (we were pleased that they were able to find someone to come on Saturday evening).
Driving on I-40 in New Mexico, and my TPMS gave a warning of high temperature. We stopped and let it cool down, but soon after resuming, it jumped up again. We stopped at the next rest area, and the temperature continued to climb to 207F, then started going down again.
I usually just post links to Sinclair Trails blog posts, but today I’ll do a series of posts with some breaking news. Literally breaking: we are currently broken down at a rest stop, awaiting a tow of our motorhome (probably tomorrow).
