To conclude my throwback series of pictures from living in New Zealand, here are some shots of the Auckland region from January 2001, shortly before we moved to the US. #ThrowbackThursday
ThrowbackThursday
In October 2000 we sold our NZ house in preparation for moving to the US, and temporarily moved into a small apartment on Prince’s Wharf. We quite enjoyed the downtown lifestyle for those few months. (Our apartment didn’t have a water view, though; it was in the middle of two buildings). #ThrowbackThursday
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for lots of things, including my blog followers, customers, friends, and family. It’s still a Thursday, so here’s our turkey from 2015. #ThrowbackThursday 🦃

A high school photo from 1986. I’m in the middle, next to my best friend Donald (with his eyes closed). #ThrowbackThursday
A more recent event for this week’s throwback: three years ago we bought our truck, a “2016 Chevy Colorado 4WD Z71 Crew Long Box, V6 Automatic in Laser Blue”. It’s been very handy for hauling lumber, feed supplies, furniture, and more. #ThrowbackThursday
So, remember my Throwback series of low-res photos of our New Zealand house? Here are some real estate pics from a few years ago, showing how much it changed since then. Subsequent owners removed my pond, but check out the size of those palm trees! #ThrowbackThursday
A special throwback for Halloween: carved pumpkins from 2002, with my old Dejal logo, and Jenn’s Jidabug face. 🎃 #ThrowbackThursday
For the final post in my throwback series of low-res pictures from our NZ house, some front yard landscaping from the year 2000, putting in flowerbeds, and replacing the grass with more beds and paths. #ThrowbackThursday
For the penultimate post in my throwback series of low-res pictures from our NZ house, some backyard landscaping from the year 2000. #ThrowbackThursday
Continuing my throwback series of low-res pictures from our NZ house: I’ve always been a fan of ponds and waterfalls, and built one at our first house in 1999. #ThrowbackThursday
