Remember flowers? None blooming around here at present, but I still have a bunch of unpublished pictures from summer, so here are a couple of peppermint flowers with bees, taken in August. I hope our bees are hibernating well. 🌱🌼🐝
On the homestead blog: we did a quick half-hour visit to our beehives today, to swap out the mite treatment strips and add “bee juice”, a syrup of sugar water to help the bees build up their winter stores, since there aren’t many flowers blooming at this time of year. 🐝
Flowers of the day, adjacent to the veggie garden: Greek oregano, another favorite of bees (as beekeepers, we appreciate plants they like). 🌱🌼🐝
