The Micro.blog challenge word for day 24 is “baby”. Look what I spotted on the floating pond island: duck eggs! These probably aren’t fertilized, but now that they are starting to lay, we may have baby ducklings before long. 🦆🥚📷 #mbfeb

Speaking of eggs, I mentioned in a conversation on Twitter today that I was looking forward to getting some duck eggs; I guess one of our chickens saw that tweet, as I found a surprise jumbo egg when I collected eggs this afternoon. I bet that hurt! 🐓🥚
A few people correctly identified today’s What’s It Wednesday question: it was some egg cartons, stamp, ink, and the wooden block I made to let me stamp the top of a carton (in the background you can see another block for split cartons). #WhatsItWednesday
The answer to the What’s It Wednesday question from earlier: it’s a raw lightly scrambled egg that’s been frozen in an ice cube tray, as a way to store excess eggs from our chickens. They’ll be useful next winter, as laying slows. #WhatsItWednesday
What do you do when making a double batch of chocolate banana bread, and you realize there aren’t any eggs in the house? Why, go out to the chicken coop and get some freshly laid ones, of course.
Shiny boiled eggs, fresh from our chickens. 🥚
