Construction of our NZ house begins, from 1998. (Sorry about the low quality of the pictures; they’re from low-res captures of an old video camera tape.) #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

For last week’s throwback I showed the house plans; this week, here’s me standing on the empty lot where our NZ house would be built, when we got possession of it in 1998. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

In 1997 we purchased an empty lot in Albany, Auckland, New Zealand, and started planning to get a house built. These are the faxed plans of a base layout with many customizations (as indicated on the third image). #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

A few months after we got married, Jenn and I moved to a new flat (in July 1995). A little larger, but still very basic. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

New built-in microwave, after two weeks without one, including a failed install. #dejus365

Like our new microwave? Isn’t it nice? It would be, if the installer hadn’t stripped the mounting thread. Now we have to wait for a replacement. #dejus365
