Another “reflect” picture, this time from today: snowy trees reflecting off our pond. #mbfeb

It’s below freezing overnight, so our pond is partially frozen. Here’s a peek from the secret path, plus a bonus shot of the ice from the other side.
On the Dejus YouTube channel: Ducks On Ice. The ducks sliding around on the frozen pond, inside their house, and swimming in the non-frozen water by the fountain pump. ❄️🦆❄️
On the Dejus YouTube channel: Ducks walking on and falling through ice. Our pond mostly froze today, and our ducks walked on the ice for the first time, with mixed success. ❄️ 🦆❄️
A mossy rock by our pond, with a duck in the background.
On the homestead blog: wading in the pond to clean the fountain pump.
Shady overflow channel at the back of our pond.
Using a pond rake, that has a float attached, to scoop out a bunch of leaves from our pond. Leaves are a natural part of the ecosystem, but they reduce the oxygen in the pond as they break down, which isn’t great for the fish.
Back of the pond, with more fall foliage, and ducks. The pond gets covered with leaves at this time of the year. 🍂🦆
Continuing my throwback series of low-res pictures from our NZ house: I’ve always been a fan of ponds and waterfalls, and built one at our first house in 1999. #ThrowbackThursday
