What better treat for the chickens on Halloween than a pumpkin?! Plus I noticed a great-looking spiderweb between some of the pumpkins from our garden in the breezeway. 🕸🎃🐓

I think I prefer pizzas done in my kitchen oven (like this from last night), rather than the Ooni. Using the same dough recipe, the pizzas get more crispy without burning. Whereas the Ooni ones are always kinda underdone with burnt edges. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. 🍕
In my bird food box, in addition to a bin of black oil seeds, is a bin with suet and a big bag of peanuts in the shell. I put out a handful of peanuts in a tray for the jays each morning. (Pictures inspired by conversation with @macgenie.)
Puffy Ooni Canadian bacon & pineapple pizza from a couple of days ago… maybe my last done in that oven till next year, as we head towards winter. 🍕
A few more photos from our 2005 anniversary trip to Hawaii: us on the beach, palm tree and rainbow tower, and a couple of breakfasts on the lanai. Good times. #ThrowbackThursday
Oops… I should have used a larger jar when feeding this sourdough starter clone. 🍞
Flower of the day: a Roma tomato flower (with some green tomatoes also visible; we’re just getting a few ripe ones at present, but very soon will be drowning in them). 🌱🌼🍅
A bonus picture for the Micro.blog photo challenge word for day 29, “flake” (suggested by kurite). For my afternoon snack today, I ate one of my hoarded Cadbury Flake chocolate bars, a fave from my NZ days, imported from the UK. 📷 #mbaug
The Micro.blog photo challenge word for day 29 is “flake” (suggested by kurite). After mealworms, the all-time favorite treat of our chickens are flakes of rice. They love strawberries, too, but ignore those till they’ve eaten all the rice. 📷🍓🍚🐓 #mbaug
Today we had lunch on the pond deck (with homemade sourdough rolls). Forgive the dirty table; we haven’t used it for quite some time. We really should do that more often, but it’s less convenient than just using the house’s main deck.
