Flower of the day: a Roma tomato flower (with some green tomatoes also visible; we’re just getting a few ripe ones at present, but very soon will be drowning in them). 🌱🌼🍅

A bonus picture for the Micro.blog photo challenge word for day 29, “flake” (suggested by kurite). For my afternoon snack today, I ate one of my hoarded Cadbury Flake chocolate bars, a fave from my NZ days, imported from the UK. 📷 #mbaug

The Micro.blog photo challenge word for day 29 is “flake” (suggested by kurite). After mealworms, the all-time favorite treat of our chickens are flakes of rice. They love strawberries, too, but ignore those till they’ve eaten all the rice. 📷🍓🍚🐓 #mbaug

Today we had lunch on the pond deck (with homemade sourdough rolls). Forgive the dirty table; we haven’t used it for quite some time. We really should do that more often, but it’s less convenient than just using the house’s main deck.

Experimenting with an extra-thick pizza. Perhaps too thick. 🍕

Last night’s tasty Independence Day dinner: salad, bison steak, baked spuds, corn on the cob. 🇺🇸🥗🥩🥔🌽

Tonight’s pizzas, cooked in my Ooni Koda oven. I made the dough double-thick from my usual, which I think turned out really well. 🍕

A first attempt at making sourdough sub rolls, via Daniel Steinberg’s recipe. 🥖

Something quite satisfying about jam made from our strawberries, comb honey from our beehives, on toasted homemade bread. 🍓🍯🍞

We had food truck burritos for dinner tonight… which is the first time we’ve had food not prepared by us since March 6. Tasted so good! 🌯
