After we moved to the US in 2001, we bought a cute Volkswagen New Beetle car. #ThrowbackThursday

On Saturday during our Hood River mini vacation, Jenn and I did some tastings at a couple of wineries. We were planning to visit more, but felt we had enough after two. We went to Syncline Winery and COR Cellars.
The main reason for our trip to Hood River was to attend the winemaker dinner at our favorite winery, Marchesi Vineyards, along with friends. Some very tasty food and wine, accompanied by words from the winemaker, and Italian arias. An excellent evening.
Happy birthday to my wonderful wife, Jenn! (This is a photo from a delightful trip to Jacksonville, Oregon last year.) 🎂
A more recent event for this week’s throwback: three years ago we bought our truck, a “2016 Chevy Colorado 4WD Z71 Crew Long Box, V6 Automatic in Laser Blue”. It’s been very handy for hauling lumber, feed supplies, furniture, and more. #ThrowbackThursday
For day 4 of @macgenie’s photo challenge, and Throwback Thursday: our NZ family, from shortly before Jenn and I moved to the US in 2001. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday
Jenn.
We’re on vacation in Ashland. Last night, we went to one of our favorite restaurants here, Plancha, which features tasty Mexican food and beverages.
Then a quick stroll around downtown, including a pause at the duck pond.
And a glass of wine at the OSF member lounge, before the evening’s play, All’s Well That Ends Well.
Hawaii day 5
We spent our last full day in paradise relaxing in a “cabana” in the “coconut grove”, a somewhat secluded area past the swimming lagoon:

A piña colada, for a change from the mai tais:
We also had a couple of swims in the lagoon; the second of which was snorkeling. This was only my second time with that, so I wasn’t very good at it, but it was more fun and successful than my previous attempt, on our previous visit to Hawaii years ago.
We saw lots of colorful tropical fish, and Jenn saw a shy octopus, moray eel, humuhumunukunukuapua’a, several kinds of urchins, parrotfish, tangs, moorish idols, black triggerfish, etc. No pictures of those, unfortunately!
In the evening, we went to a lū’au. Here’s a selfie:

Jenn got a temporary tattoo:
After feasting, we had a performance of Polynesian dancing:
Sadly our time in Hawaii is coming to a close; next up, heading home.
