Jenn and I are feeling super-stressed at present. Our house closing is one week from today, we’re busy sorting our stuff for take/store/sell, we’re nervous about our RV adventure (awaiting test results for it, driving a big coach, finding places to stay, issues with it, etc), and before that our upcoming trip to Yellowstone in a rental trailer (with our new coach sitting idle at home, since it won’t fit in Yellowstone). Plus today I’m getting some skin cancer chopped out of my leg, so I didn’t get much sleep last night, and Jenn is feeling very ill (probably as a result of the stress). I’m sure everything will be fine, we just need to get through this transition. Deep breaths….

On the homestead blog: a big announcement — we are starting our next big adventure. We have put our homestead on the market, and will be buying a large RV, downsizing, and touring the US full-time! (And yes, this is the #WhatsItWednesday answer.)

Today marks 20 years of living in the US. Jenn and I moved here from NZ two decades ago today. We landed in Los Angeles, visited Disneyland, rented a minivan, and drove up the coast via San Francisco, Portland, etc to the Seattle area to visit Mom. #ThrowbackThursday

Jenn and I are about to head out to the Oregon coast on a trailer camping trip, using a rented trailer, as a short COVID-safe vacation. Our first time doing this! Should be an interesting experiment.

Last year we were looking forward to visiting New Zealand, doing a big driving tour of the South Island. One week before our departure, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, and the following day, one year ago today, we postponed the trip. 🦠🗺✈️🚗🇳🇿

My mother and her husband Brian visited us in the US (from NZ) in May 2005. Here are pictures of them at Portland’s Japanese Garden, watching baseball in Portland, at Cannon Beach, and in the Columbia Gorge. #ThrowbackThursday

One more from our anniversary trip to Hawaii in 2005: a poster we created with several of the photos from the trip. #ThrowbackThursday

Last photos from our anniversary trip to Hawaii in 2005: us at Waihi Falls, a palm tree and frond, and a pic of a lion fish at the aquarium that I quite like. #ThrowbackThursday

A few more photos from our 2005 anniversary trip to Hawaii: us on the beach, palm tree and rainbow tower, and a couple of breakfasts on the lanai. Good times. #ThrowbackThursday

More from our trip to Hawaii in 2005; we enjoyed a rainbow by the Diamond Head volcanic cone before celebrating our anniversary at a resort restaurant, and bringing back a chocolate Diamond Head dessert. #ThrowbackThursday
