Well, darn. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival just announced that they are delaying the season till the fall, due to COVID-19. We were going to attend in May and August; May was looking extremely unlikely, but now August is out too. We might still go to Ashland then if things are settled down by then, though who knows what the world will be like then.

As many people have pointed out, and I just want to note on my blog, New Zealand will be instituting very strict restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including requiring 14 days of self-isolation for all arrivals. So we are very glad that we made the decision to postpone our trip.
When we first moved to the US in 2001, we attended some Mariners baseball games at what was then Safeco Field in Seattle. #ThrowbackThursday ⚾️
A few more photos from our weekend trip; we stopped at a lookout above the Columbia River where Celilo Falls used to be, before it was flooded for a dam, plus some pics around the Stonehenge memorial.
After lunch on our Hood River mini vacation, we headed east to the Maryhill Stonehenge, a replica of the original. It was built as a World War I memorial.
The word for day 19 of the Micro.blog photo challenge is “space”. Here’s a space between stones at a Stonehenge replica from our Hood River trip; more photos of it later. #mbfeb
On Saturday during our Hood River mini vacation, Jenn and I did some tastings at a couple of wineries. We were planning to visit more, but felt we had enough after two. We went to Syncline Winery and COR Cellars.
The main reason for our trip to Hood River was to attend the winemaker dinner at our favorite winery, Marchesi Vineyards, along with friends. Some very tasty food and wine, accompanied by words from the winemaker, and Italian arias. An excellent evening.
We just had a little weekend getaway, staying in Hood River, Oregon at the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa. Here are some pictures of the hotel and our room.
Another stop on our way up the coast in April 2001: the giant redwoods (including the Drive-Thru Tree). #ThrowbackThursday
